Everything about this looks great except for the toilet idea. I saw a similar sized house once on a small home show and the shower was relatively okay, but the toilet was essentially a small garbage pail. I hope whatever she comes up with is more like the real deal.
Orchid, do you mean the idea of a composting toilet in general, or Elizabeth Turnbull's particular version of it? The reason I ask is that the composting toilet--as gross as it sounds--is gaining some traction here. I was disgusted by the idea but have since had the opportunity to use them a few times on Cape Cod--at the Audubon Society and at the beach. It really wasn't gross at all. It would take some getting used to, though. It is different. Gives new meaning to the adage, "Don't fall in."

That Tiny House is fantastic - maybe the answer to the UK housing crisis.
Love that tiny house. I've had apartments that weren't that big. Okay, not really, but my half of my dorm room in college was smaller.
At first I thought that a hs student had done this, and was really impressed, but it's still impressive.

You OK? Haven't seen an update in quite awhile...
Here is another suggestion, on modest off-grid living:
